Telephone, an international arts experiment hosted by Satellite Collective in NY, has launched and it is amazing!

To begin the game, three artists of different mediums were given a quote to interpret in their respective art forms. Each of these pieces were then passed on to another batch of artists, to be reinterpreted and passed on to another batch of artists, and so on and so forth. The project grew exponentially huge and now the map tracing all 315 (!) projects from all over the world looks like a genetic tree of life... which, in a way, it is, if creativity is the medium of evolution.

Sketches, Inspirations, Works in Progress from the Studio

Now back in Israel, I have a chance to share images & recent artworks from my monthlong artist in residency at Can Serrat, in the powerful Montserrat mountains of Catalonia.

My project focused on Federico Garcia Lorca's notion of duende, the indefinable quality that bursts forth in inspired moments, particularly flamenco. Traveling in Andalucia before the residency, I gathered flamenco inspiration and collage materials, salvaging small items from flea markets, thrift shops, and sidewalks. My muses, two old black and white photographs I found in a flea market in Sevilla, were toted on top of my backpack, in buses, on trains, until I reached El Bruc, the town that is home to Can Serrat.

just finished attending the second annual kristeva circle conference at vanderbilt university in tennessee. so much philosophical critical analytical inspiration! 

full of stimulation, my mind whirred, fractal as romanesco, craving the release of canvas, but. more travels to come. pleasure (jouissance?) delayed.
