Weaving
"Sara Rosenthal codes cosmos, strata, ritual, and intention into rich tapestries and paintings. Both muscular and delicate, the tapestries act as containers, relational spaces for disparate sources. As Sara interweaves bits from her past -- a silk curtain from her childhood bedroom, a scrap from her partner's retired t-shirt, remnants gifted from friends -- color melds and frays. Her stitches build sentences; intricate stitches mingle with metallic, and thick, hairy yarn declares itself, bursting from the frame. Subtle shifts in stitches punctuate tension, resolution, and a glimpse of her hand. Sara's works read as scrolls, continuously unfolding. "
